Digital Arts & Design I 3/23 -3/27

March 23, 2026 – Watch How to start digital designing with photopea. The BASICS! Photopea is a FREE online program that works quite similar to Photoshop.  The processes and tools of both programs are nearly the same allowing students to successful complete projects.

Photopea editor works in a web browser. It can be started by going to www.Photopea.com. Photopea can run on any device (desktop, laptop, tablet, phone or any other computer), but for the best comfort, we recommend having a big screen, a precise pointing device (a mouse or a stylus) and a keyboard.

Photopea runs completely in your device, just like Sketch or Photoshop do. It does not upload any of your files to the internet. You can load Photopea.com, disconnect from the internet and keep using it completely offline. None of your files ever leaves your computer.

March 24, 2026 – Go to Photopea.com. When you first get in click New Project to start a new project.  I would suggest setting the size to 1280 width and 720 height.  This is default. Then click create. Take 20-30 minutes maybe even a few hours to just mess around with the program. Try to learn what each button does. Search youtube for more photopea tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=photopea+tutorial

March 25, 2026 – Go to Photopea.com. Click on Learn which is at the top on the right side of the screen. Spend the class period reading about the different options.

March 26, 2026 – Watch Photopea Textures and Photopea Adjustment Layers. Here are some pictures to experiment with: Apple 1, Apple 2, Kitten and Pumpkin.

March 27, 2026 – Watch How to BLEND PICTURES in Photopea! and Removing the Background from an Image with Photopea.
