September 17, 2020 – Begin class by writing the six types of businesses on the board (producers, processors, service firms, manufactures, intermediaries, non-profit organizations) and asking students to name businesses which fit into each category. Pass out the Business Characteristics Vocabulary Handout and the Functions of Business Student Handout for students to use as reference materials during the presentation. Show the Types of Businesses segment. Review the list of businesses written on the board. Ask students if there are any businesses in the wrong category. If so, move the business into the correct category and add more businesses to the list. Have students complete the segment Assessment I. Distribute the Business Profile Project and have students complete the first page.
